How to run 100 miles
How to run 100 miles, directed by Brendan Leonard, is about Jayson and Brendan signed up to 100 mile run it had to be completed before 36 hours. They trained every Saturday. They the run was more and more painful the further they got. they finished the ultra marathon just before the time like 30 minutes before. Jayson never gave up with his wrestling that he never gave up on even though he didn't win a match for 2 years till he won a match of wrestling.
The purpose is to inform and inspire the watcher how to run 100 miles and not give up on the challenge.
The message I took from this film was, don't give up on hard challenges or activities, the message was put across well because Jayson never gave up with wrestling he never won a match for 2 years, then won one after 2 years of wrestling. This is the same with the 100 mile run they never gave up they keep going even though their legs and muscles were hurting, they finished the race before the time they finish with 22:45 minutes left of running. This is a good message for teenagers because this could help teenagers with not giving up on activities that are difficult to do and help them learn to not give up.
The beginning and during the how to 100 mile run I felt bored because who would ever want to do this especially when it hurts your legs and it's boring watching someone run. It started to get better half way through hearing that Jayson and Brendan though they were behind on time they were meant to be there at the first stop and by the second stop they had to run through the night and night is the hardest part. At the end of the film I thought that it OK and felt like I could run 100 miles.
Jayson made the biggest impression on me because of the things he did like never give up on hard challenges and activities, he did in his life like wrestling and school. He was told he wasn't good enough for school and couldn't finish is, so he should just go find a job . this showed me that you can still do something that people tell you that you can’t do so keep trying and don’t give up This taught me that if u give u you start giving up too easy on easy activities
The connection I had with this film was that my English teacher Mrs Gopperth did a 100 mile run called The Great Naseby Water Race. Mrs Gopperth did this on the 23th of August 2019
She explained that it was a thrilling experience but it hurts the ankles, joints, feet and upper legs. I watched a small video that she showed the class near the end of the race she started swearing and complaining about the run even though she enjoyed it. This is similar to Jayson and Brendons run because they both ran 100 miles I learned that it is not fun but a great experience, don’t give
up and do something challenging.
